CUNY student?

Are you a student at the City University of New York? We’re planning an organizing forum for students at CUNY colleges (undergrad and graduates students), and we need more student input to make it a great event. If you attend one of the CUNY schools, please take a few minutes to fill out this survey. Thanks!
If you’d like to get involved in planning the forum, give us a call at 347-689-3914.

That’s a shame.

Jerry Seinfeld is getting some flack, and rightly so, but I wonder how much flack Joe Schmoe gets when he says the same kind of thing? That’s always a difficult social situation: what do you do or say when someone you thought you liked says something so completely boneheaded and offensive? Miss Manners recommends the “hollow laugh” for tasteless jokes, but sometimes it just doesn’t seem like enough.

Alleged rape victim’ s rescuers threatened: Soccer players are called names after intervening at party

It seems no good deed goes unpunished, while bad ones continue to. The women who took action in this case, and the assaulted woman who continues to want to press charges, are heros. I hope other people will be inspired to step up when they see something wrong.

I think SAFER should set up some annual awards for Best Bystanders, Athletes Making a Difference, Best Prosecutor, Most Proactive Campus Security Team, Best Student Education Campaign, Most Effective Student Movement, etc. Submit your nominations now!
